I love K-beauty, so when I saw that this Retinol Collagen Face & Neck Cream w/ Ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid by Liv La Fay was "Korean skin care ingredients", I ordered it up immediately. It arrives completely wrapped in cellophane and I appreciate the tamper proof efforts. The first thing to know is that this cream is not made in Korea it is made in China, but it is formulated as if it were from Korea and that's good enough for me.
The jar uses that push top where the cream comes up out of the middle, and I really like this, because it keeps the product sanitary and fresher. The cream is lightweight and has a very subtle and pleasant scent. It contains no added perfume so the floral/herbal smell of it is coming from the botanicals in the formulation. It smooths on the skin nicely, making even distribution easy and my skin drank it all in within a minute. There is no sticky or greasy residue left after it absorbs, just softer feeling skin.
The label on the jar promises " no harsh chemicals" and I would agree with that. This cream contains lots of humectants-glycerin, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate to attract moisture to the skin and plenty of emollients- shea butter, jojoba oil, sunflower oil, ceramides, to keep it there. There are also some soothing ingredients like aloe vera and licorice root, plus some really nice anti aging ingredients. For anti aging, they have added niacinimide, retinyl palmitate (a milder form of a retinol), and 5 different kinds of peptides.
It is a very good formulation focused on giving long term benefits rather than instant gratification. Not that my skin does not feel nice after using it... it definitely does, but to see benefits like reduced fine lines and wrinkles or enhanced firmness is not going to happen overnight. Besides all the great ingredients already mentioned, I am impressed by the lack of anything potentially harmful or controversial. No silicones, parabens, PEGs, not even perfume. This 1.7oz jar of cream is currently selling at $31.99, and I think that is a excellent value for the quality of the formulation, not to mention how pleasant this cream is to use.
